Company

Built over nearly five decades. Still moving forward.

What began as a screen-printing business in 1977 is now a woman-owned operation connecting contract decoration, managed commerce, systems integration, warehousing, fulfillment, and specialty production.

Our history

It started with the art. The operation grew around it.

Paula Belz started Impress Designs while studying art at the University of Texas at Arlington. The business began in 1977 and incorporated in 1979, developing deep screen-printing experience before expanding into embroidery and additional production methods.

During the 1980s, the company expanded into promotional products and developed supplier relationships that supported larger, more organized programs. Over time, art, specialty production, managed stores, finishing, warehousing, systems integration, and fulfillment became part of the same operation.

Today, contract and high-volume work represents approximately 95% of production volume. The operating model is built for large brands, resellers, promotional products companies, and medium-to-large organizations while still supporting small releases within qualified, continuing relationships.

Worldly assessments in progress

Higg Facility Environmental Module (FEM) and Facility Social & Labor Module (FSLM) assessments are currently in progress through Worldly. They are not presented here as finished credentials.

Security, privacy & brand protection

Controls designed around confidential customer work.

Physical products, artwork, shopper information, production data, and commercial details all require deliberate access and handling. Documented controls can be provided during customer due diligence.

Physical access & brand protection

Visitors sign in, wear badges, and remain escorted. Photography requires management approval and cannot expose another customer's products or work. Production and warehouse photography is limited to controlled company devices and approved workflows.

Identity, devices & information

Microsoft Entra MFA, Intune-managed devices, access controls, encrypted backups, security monitoring, reporting, and employee security training support the information environment.

Payments & document handling

Ecommerce and ERP payments are handled by established third-party processors. Impress Designs personnel cannot view full card numbers. Certified paper shredding supports controlled document disposal.

Sustainability in practice

Measure, improve, and involve the operation.

Impress Designs maintains an employee green committee and continues to develop practical sustainability work across the facility. Current Worldly assessments are part of documenting environmental and social performance more consistently.

Specific assessment results and claims will be published only after the applicable work is finished and approved for release.
