Flexible programs

Decorate after the order instead of forecasting every finished unit.

Approved products and artwork can stay available in a pop-up or year-round store, then move through decoration, quality control, packing, and shipment after purchase.

Overview

Broader assortments with less finished-goods exposure.

Print on demand can reduce the need to decorate every size, color, and design in advance. Programs can pull stocked blanks, source approved wholesale products, or use customer-supplied goods.

Current decorate-on-demand methods are primarily DTF and embroidery, with selected vinyl and preprinted-transfer applications. Screen-printed programs are generally produced in advance and held for fulfillment rather than screen printed one order at a time.

Capabilities & scope

How POD programs operate.

01

Approved assortment

Products, colors, sizes, artwork, placements, pricing, and substitutions are defined before orders arrive.

02

Order-triggered production

Each valid automated order releases an established item and approved design into DTF, embroidery, or another predefined decoration workflow.

03

Individual fulfillment

Finished items are quality checked, packed, shipped, and connected to tracking.

04

Hybrid inventory

Programs can combine stocked finished goods, blank inventory, and purchased-on-demand products.

Operating model

A repeatable decorate-on-demand flow.

  1. 01

Approve the store, products, artwork, placement, decoration method, and inventory strategy.

  2. 02

Receive the customer order through the selected store or integration.

  3. 03

Pull or source the blank, decorate it, and complete quality control.

  4. 04

Pack, ship, report status, and manage exceptions under the program rules.

Requirements & controls

Program considerations

  • Typical times apply to valid automated orders received by 6:00 a.m. Central Time, with required inventory available and established artwork and decoration instructions.
  • When Impress Designs bills the webstore shopper, payment must be completed before order release.
  • Onsite inventory typically leaves the facility in 1–3 business days; sourced on-demand apparel typically leaves in 5–10 business days depending on the product's source location.
  • Typical production timing ends at carrier handoff. Carrier transit time is additional, and the timeframes are not guarantees.
  • Predefined basic DTF or embroidery personalization can be included when no manual approval is required.

Customer fit

A strong fit for

  • Employee and company stores
  • Brand and fan webstores
  • Teams, schools, and clubs
  • Programs with broad or unpredictable demand
  • Organizations reducing finished-goods inventory
