3PL operations

Ship individual orders, cartons, couriers, and freight through defined program rules.

Multi-carrier rate shopping, customer-selected services, third-party accounts, and destination-specific workflows can connect directly to decoration, inventory, store packs, and fulfillment.

Overview

The final handoff should be planned with the order.

Most customers elect to have Impress Designs compare available UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL, GlobalPost, and other carrier services to find a cost-effective option that meets the shipment's transit-time and destination requirements.

Customers may instead specify a shipping service or provide a third-party carrier account. Packaging, address quality, carrier rules, billing, tracking, and exception ownership are defined by program.

Capabilities & scope

Distribution options.

01

Multi-carrier rate shopping

Available services are compared shipment by shipment, balancing cost with the required transit time and destination.

02

Courier and pickup

Local pickup and courier releases require an order or purchase-order reference.

03

LTL and bulk destinations

Pallets, store packs, cartons, and large program releases can be coordinated to approved destinations.

04

Canada and Mexico

Shipping to Canada and Mexico is available for a fee. International ecommerce options are being expanded, but additional destinations are not represented as generally available yet.

05

International duties and taxes

International shipments are sent Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU). Duties, taxes, brokerage fees, and other import charges are billed to the recipient or to a customer-provided third-party account and are not the responsibility of Impress Designs.

06

Tracking and status

Shipment status and tracking are typically returned to the store through ShipStation's API or through a program-specific custom API where available.

Operating model

  3. 03

Pack, label, reconcile, and release each shipment.
